Norderstedt, Germany, November 18, 2009 - Without a doubt, no other item needs to be as tough as a digital camera since you always take it with you wherever you go - be it up snowy Alpine peaks, on a trip through the Amazon rainforest, or to a party in a disused underground station. That's why choosing the right camera is so essential. You need a camera you can rely on in any situation, one which has been developed with passion by people who know how to unite design and quality into an authentic lifestyle object; one which can withstand the harshest conditions but also magically garners the attention of other partygoers at any event. Such a camera is the new EXILIM G EX-G1 by CASIO.
From the makers of G-SHOCK
It's no coincidence that one of the possibly world's toughest camera comes from CASIO and that its name also contains the letter 'G'. Back in 1983, the Japanese company brought a totally new concept in watches onto the market with G-SHOCK. Not only did they look good, but they were also extremely resistant. What ensued was a global success story which continues to this day. The EXILIM G EX-G1 now follows in the mould of G-SHOCK with a quintessentially robust CASIO design.
Ideal for outdoor sports use
Whether used in the water, on the beach, or on the slopes, the EX-G1 is always in its element. This camera excels due to its exceptional characteristics. It is impact resistant, waterproof, dust-proof and frost-resistant and thus fully equipped to endure rugged outdoor conditions. Snowboarders and ski enthusiasts can scale icy peaks wearing this watch as it can be easily consulted while using gloves and at temperatures as low as -10 °C. The EX-G1 is also a faithful companion for climbers and mountain bike aficionados on the dustiest of mountain trails while surfers now finally get the chance to take a camera to the beach which neither sand nor sea can harm. This camera can be used at depths of up to three meters, or almost ten feet, for sixty minutes.
No matter where you take it, this first model in CASIO's EXILIM G Series really shines due to its exceptional characteristics in any extreme outdoor situation. With its 12.1 megapixels, triple optical zoom and a protected 6.4 cm (2.5") TFT colour display screen, the EX-G1 offers its owner more than just the usual digital camera basics while still looking exceptionally stylish. At only 19.9 millimetres, the camera also boasts the slimmest casing of all impact resistant and waterproof digital cameras on the market.
Robust: Also ideal for festivals and urban environments
Whether you're attending a water-logged music festival or experiencing big city nightlife, the EX-G1 is the perfect constant companion, guaranteed to make others go green with envy. It also makes a good impression when you're practicing street sports. Skaters and BMX riders at last have the ideal camera to best capture their jumps and tricks. With the help of the interval shooting mode, photographers can take automatic fixed-point pictures and movies within a preset period of time. They can thus achieve unique shots, even while performing tricks themselves in a half-pipe or grinding down stairway handrails. What's more, there's no need to constantly worry about damaging the camera as the stainless steel outer casing can effortlessly withstand bumps and knocks. The EX-G1 will even remain intact if dropped several times from a height of up to 2.13 m, or 7 feet.
The EXILIM G EX-G1 can be found in retail stores for a recommended retail price of 349 Euros from the end of January.
